March is National Nutrition Month
The theme for 2012 is "Get the real deal on your meal". Proper nutrition is integral to overall health and vitality. The foods you choose literally affects your oral health from the moment you put them in your mouth. Here are some popular nutrition myths that Dietitians hear, and would love to dispel.
Nutrition & Dentistry
Nutrition plays an important role in preventative dentistry. Foods with antioxidant qualities help your body to fight bacteria that cause tooth decay, while foods high in calcium strengthen teeth and bones. A well balanced diet is important in all aspects of your life... including your oral health.
Please ask us if you'd like more information on nutrition and your health.
Please note: Lawrence West Dental will be OPEN for business on Friday, March 16th,2012
as it is the last day of March break. Contact our office, or click here to schedule your children's appointments today!
Have a fun and safe month,
Dr. Nick Babatsikos and Team

Is your smile all that it can be?
Or is there something missing?
Many people have a missing tooth in the back of their mouth and feel as though, if no one can see it, it's not a problem. This is not entirely true.
While you may not see that missing tooth as causing problems, you run the risk of the surrounding teeth drifting out of position and doing visible harm. Missing teeth also cause your surrounding teeth and gums to become far more susceptible to tooth decay and gum disease. One of the solutions we can offer patients with missing teeth is called a dental bridge.
What is a dental bridge?
A dental bridge is a false tooth, known as a pontic. It can be used to replace one or more missing teeth. Bridges can do many things, including reducing your risk of gum disease, help to correct minor bite issues and can even improve your speech.
